Venue Requirements Can Dramatically Affect Pricing

This is one of the bigger “hidden” factors couples don’t realize. Your venue requirements can dramatically affect your catering pricing.
For example, if your venue does not allow open flames or sternos, caterers may need to bring in completely different equipment to keep food hot.
That could mean:
Additional warming cabinets
Extra electrical equipment
Different serving setups
More transportation logistics
Additional labor
All of those operational changes affect pricing.
Another major factor couples overlook is preferred vendor policies.

Some venues have a “preferred caterer” list.
If you choose a caterer outside of that list, the venue may charge an additional off-site catering fee.
These fees can sometimes surprise couples late in the planning process, so it’s important to ask venues about this upfront.
